About Abby
Abby is a consummate educator who loves to share the simple strategies for reading smarter, faster and just plain better. Through her trainings, books, interviews and personally created online course, she shares everything she knows so others can experience the joys of becoming a better reader.
I used to HATE to read. I went through my adolescent life, four years of college and three years working in the business world with this negative attitude. This attitude changed to positive after I got trained as a traveling reading and study skills teacher where I learned some simple strategies that made reading more pleasurable. Now, I can’t imagine my life without dynamic and versatile reading skills.
I believe smart reading skills are a set of active, mindful, and conscious strategies that allow the reader to get what they need quickly from any reading material in an efficient and effective manner.
Since 1988, I have been developing and teaching simple strategies for better, smarter and faster reading. Because I believe in the power of high-quality reading, I’ve come up with the most user-friendly interactive self-paced on-demand college-level online reading course for those interested in becoming the best readers they can be.
As a published expert, I am the author of these books – 10 Days to Faster Reading, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Speed Reading, Speed Reading: A Little-Known Time-Saving Superpower and Success Skills: Strategies for Study and Lifelong Learning.
I have a master’s degree in Adult Learning and consider myself a lifelong learner.
For the past 30 years, I have taught students and educators in high schools, colleges and universities, business professionals in Fortune 500 companies, associations, small businesses and government agencies, and anyone else who wanted to improve their reading abilities.
